Research and Planning: Double Page Spread Story

As many people know the band 'SOLID' broke up early this week, this was due to a large number of disputes between the lead singer and drummer, this came as quite a shock since it was both of them which founded the band and recruited then recruited their other two members: Archie the bassist, and Owen the lead guitarist. The creation of their first single came less than a month after that.

The band was founded in 1998 by Micheal Gardner and Will Saxon who both auditioned to be part of a different band on the same day, it was lucky for them to have not got in because after neither of them were selected to be part of the other band they began talking and created a band of their own. The band hit big with the release of their first single 'The Runaround' which eventually sold a million copies and funded their first album which was self named. The album was release a year after their single in 1999 and was followed by 3 albums each featuring 8 songs, with various favorites among their fans.
The 2nd album called 'Double Boost' was release on 12th November 2004 leaving themselves in the dark for a staggering 5 years with only the casual single being released every couple of years to retain the interest of their fans. The 3rd album named 'A Stranger Shore' was released a lot faster than that, being released on 28th February 2005, just 3 months after their previous album. Their final album apparently spelt out the end as it was named 'Split Apart' released  3rd January 2011. Considering the name the fans still said that the band was 'solid' and would never 'split apart' even though the band deliberately avoided the question in many interviews, but also stated that it had been rocky at times.
When asked the members all said something slightly different about the reason they broke up however it all pointed to the fact that they wanted the band to go in different directions, and apparently it was surprising that they released 3 more albums especially since this arguing over the direction that they were moving in was going on since 2000.

'SOLID' may have broken up, the members going in separate directions, but the strangest of all decisions was the fact that the lead singer decided on a solo career. " I'll work on my own for a while..." he commented in passing when asked, giving no other explanation but that. Although he did mention that he was hoping that this solo career would be as successful as the first couple of years that the band had, but "without the drama". He was obviously a bit sore about the way that it ended for 'SOLID'. When asked if there would be any comeback tours or any chance that they would became 'SOLID' again, almost all of the members said "you'll have to wait and see". so there could be a large chance that 'SOLID' will rejoin if only for a little while.
