Research and Planning: Where I am up to so far...

Front Cover (Needs Photos, Headlines and something needs to be done about the price)
Double pg spread (Previous post explains what this needs. needs more red to match others)
Contents page (needs images and some of the white boxes removing, headings and pg numbers.)

Research and Planning: Double Page Spread

This is my semi- finished double page spread. I still need to add the picture, remove that black border which is the place holder for the picture, make sure that everything lines up well, double check that my font size is ok. then decide if everything looks good when its finished.
(Might need to re-aline the text boxes as they are uneven)

Research and Planning: Clothing

The clothing I said that I would be using will be different than I originally said, however hopefully it will still be the same type. eg smart dress for cover. this is because the model i initially chose to be on the front cover couldn't do it, therefore someone else was chosen and the clothing doesn't fit them.

Research and Planning: Double page spread title

I plan to add this break in between the two half's of the title in (The picture on this page will over lap the gap) this will actually go quite well with the title itself being about a band breaking and since my photo is only of one person. (who is the solo artist) I believe that this will be a good way of having my title.

Research and Planning: Pose/Facial Expression Analysis

Usually in most of the magazines I have looked at online I would say that the facial expression is usually a more serious expression being used on most (Best examples seen so far are on Kerrang). However on some others they appear to using a jokier type of expression.
(An example of the jokier type of expression)
(An example of the serious expression)

I imagine that the type of face used would be direct to the main story line therefore my model should have quite a serious face since the story about them is that the band has broken up and they are going solo.

As seen above the poses are usually similar, and just kinda standing there. (4 examples below)

They seem to all be just standing there although most appear serious, which means that I could use the just standing there pose efficiently on my magazine front cover.

Research and Plannig: Location Recce

I'm sorry that it took me so long to upload these documents they have been saved on here for a long time but I haven't remembered to upload them, I know that the model release form still needs to be done and I'm hoping I will be able to take the picture for my cover pg etc and upload them later on next week.

Research and Planning: Progress so far 7

I have restarted my double page spread on photoshop, rather than indesign since i am quite good and used to working on photoshop now and will be able to complete it to a better standard and faster on photoshop.

(once again the boxes are just to designate space)

I have deleted he large white box with the border on my cover page and moved the price (The price should look different).
(Not sure what the white smudge is but it should be covered by my central image)

Research and Planning: Progress so far 6, + Additional Plans

Nothing big, just altered some sizes.
And decided that in order to group the cover together a bit more, the area that the central image will be in (largest white box)  wont be boarded in fact the heading band breaks will be lower down just above the competition and the central image will be from under the mast head down to the bottom of the page but underneath the boxes. (the largest box will not be there at that point, it is just a representation of the size that the central image may cover)

Research and Planning: Progress so far 5

(I am aware that the progress I seem to make is quite extreme in between these posts and will include several more posts like this while I am working to decrease the gaps between each progress made)

(This is where I finished off at the end of last lesson)
